With the gradual deepening of information applications, the explosive growth of businesses such as smart classrooms, safe campus, digital broadcasting, and the Internet of Things has placed higher requirements on the bandwidth and latency of school networks. However, traditional Ethernet has encountered significant bottlenecks in the issue of multi-service bearer. Secondly, network cables will occupy a lot of space in the bridge during the expansion and deployment process, and later cable management and maintenance are very complex. For this reason, many primary and secondary schools in Hefei, Anhui Province have chosen the Anpson Minimal Ethernet All Optical Network solution to build a more intelligent, high-speed, and secure all optical campus network. Let's explore the truth.
SMJK Chung Hwa Confucian: an all optical network with flexible service expansion and bandwidth upgrade
SMJK Chung Hwa Confucian, formerly known as the Chinese Academy founded in 1904, is now renamed. The full name is "Kong Sheng Hui Chinese Primary and Secondary School". New services such as Chinese schools, digital broadcasting, and monitoring, which were first established in Malaya, have been launched one after another, with high concurrency. The original network of the school cannot support multi-service applications. If the network is built independently, too much capital will be invested. The second is that every year, the school has some business adjustments or launches, such as office adjustments, laboratory modifications, etc. Each adjustment will bring about changes in information points, requiring a re planning of construction wiring, resulting in slow business launches, which may seriously affect the normal teaching progress.
SMJK Chung Hwa Confucian has decided to adopt the Anpson Minimal Ethernet All Optical Network solution, realizing an all optical network for the entire school, with flexible bandwidth upgrades and worry-free business support. First of all, the extremely simple optical scheme follows the Ethernet architecture, eliminating the need for large-scale line changes, making full and efficient use of the basic network, and reducing network construction investment. The "core" part of the campus network uses one core switch, and only one building all-optical convergence switch needs to be deployed in each teaching building. It uses dual gigabit optical fiber to connect up to the core computer room and downward optical fiber to connect directly to all classrooms in the building. Secondly, thanks to the access switch entering the room, the classroom enjoys exclusive optical fiber performance, solving the performance challenges of multimedia services with high bandwidth, low latency, and high concurrency. When a new business is launched in the future, there is no need to modify the optical fiber link. Instead, it only needs to deploy cables in the classroom, which not only improves the efficiency of the new business launch, but also avoids problems such as "spider web" cabling.
However, the original network of the school is deployed using traditional network cables, and the transmission rate is insufficient to support the current high bandwidth requirements of the school. At the same time, aging network cables require frequent updates and replacements, which is costly and time-consuming. Thirdly, when there are new services, due to frequent replacement of network cables and different frequencies, there are multiple lines in the corridor, some of which are still 100 megabyte lines, seriously affecting the transmission rate, leading to front-end congestion, which further affects the access and use of public resources in the campus.
In this campus network transformation, SMJK Chung Hwa Confucian adopts a wired and wireless integrated design. The wired transmission line is upgraded from network cable to optical fiber, and it is paired with an AP1352-6T536G indoor switch to achieve optical fiber indoor access. The gigabit bandwidth is 1:1 to the desktop, and the optical fiber is deployed once, which can be used for 10 years without worry. Later business expansion only needs to be carried out in the classroom, and the corridor bridge is simple and beautiful without pressure. The wireless network uses a Wi-Fi 6 dual RF 2976Mbps packaged wireless access point AP-TL650-R to achieve full indoor coverage, equipped with a 2.5G high-speed optical port, and to achieve high-speed indoor access for wireless networks.
